One-quarter of our staff are Professional Librarians (title of the NJ Department of Education license for those having a masters' degrees in library and information science, NJAC 6A:9-13.16). The librarians at MCL, who collectively have over 400 years of professional experience, have received their degrees from SUNY, Albany and Buffalo; Universities of Maryland, North Carolina and Pittsburgh; San Francisco Conservatory; Louisiana State University; Rutgers; St. Johns; Drexel and Columbia. MCL was named an "Exemplary Service" by the Virtual Reference Desk Project (Syracuse University) in 1999 and two of our staff were each named "Librarian of the Year" by the New York Times, in 2002 and 2003.
