Okay, okay. Birds have always fascinated me. They're so different from mammals, in lots of subtle and not-so-subtle ways, and they can fly, something I've always wanted to do. I'm not sure exactly why gulls in particular interest me; I think it's because they're unassuming, common birds, without the symbolic attachments that, say, eagles and hawks have. Yet they're graceful and versatile fliers.
