- When I was growing up I remember going to Wallgreens to get my Halloween costume. On top of a big long shelf were dozens of boxes. Inside these boxes of cardboard and cellophane were costumes. Not any kind of costume mind you but vinyl outfits and plastic masks for the masses. These were the kind of costumes you could barely move in and whose masks would crack if you bent them too far. What the heck we still loved them. I remember the joy of getting my first Darth Vader costume.
