There was no Friday evening match this weekend with the inclement weather forcing the postponement of the Cringila Lions v Warilla Wanderers game. Whilst the rain eased on the Saturday, we did see cold conditions prevail with a stiff southerly wind blowing for most of the day. A dour struggle ensued at Kanahooka Lodge where Dapto & Tarrawanna fought out a nil all draw. The Bluey’s ran with the wind in the first half and created a number of opportunities to get on the score sheet, but poor finishing and some excellent goal keeping from debutant Jamie Madigan kept the game scoreless at half time. With the wind at their backs, Dapto failed to trouble Josh Tidswell in the Tarrawanna goal and the game fizzled out to its inevitable scoreless draw. There was no problem with goals at Albert Butler Park, where Kemblawarra recorded their first win of the season. After leading 3-2 at half time, Kemblawarra were able to get on with the job in the second half and record and exciting 4-3 victory. Coniston Lions continued their consistent run this season when they accounted for Albion Park White Eagles 2-1 at Terry Reserve. Akwasi Agyei and Oliver Sekuloski had given the Lions a 2 goal lead before Josh Marimon pulled one back for the home side. Port Kembla continued their resurgence under Coach John Fleming with they traveled to Balls Paddock to take on the League Leaders Bulli. They came away with an excellent 3 point courtesy of a 2-1 victory with goals from Michael Robinson and Danny Ristevski. Anthony Hartshorn replied for the home side. A place in the Top 8 is not far away for the black & whites.
