About Flat-e

Film makers and visual artists Robin McNicholas, Matt Bateman and Rob Slater are collectively known as Flat-e. At the beginning of 2005 and in an effort to reduce their carbon footprint Flat-e flew home from their London base to the green, green grass of the North. Sheffield won out in the battle for which city to settle in, due in no small part to the fact they put sliced egg in all the sandwiches. Working out of a former stable, Flat-e are able to follow their ethos of producing work that in some way reveals the hand and mind of its creator. A style of work that shuns electronics in favor of carpentry and ¼ inch pointed lag screws with smooth shanks. It’s Apple bobbing not Apple Macs.
