Hi-on Maiden Link in tribute bands

Hi there, Can you change the link on your website to www.hi-onmaiden.org please?

Cheers, Speed.

You have to give us the specific DomainPage you want the link changed on. I remind you though, this is a wiki so you can change it yourself. You also have the option of creating a username using your real name instead of a pseudonym; usually people like to see real people being involved. Nathan (talk) / 18:48, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Remove my domain

I own the vales.com domain and have for over a decade. Your lame listing of it here is offensive to me and my web sites. Remove all mention of it here please.

KC Vale

Please read the FAQ first before posting on the ConcernsPage as your question has already been answered there. Regards, Nathan (talk) / 20:31, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Backpax Publications

Backpax Publications has moved to:

Unite 21 The Coach House 2 Upper York Street Bristol BS2 8QN

Telephone: 0117 924 1600

Please update your system.

I remind you that since this is a wiki, you're more than welcome to edit the page for BackPaxMag.com and change the address yourself. Nathan (talk) / 16:42, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Why do you ignore robots.txt file?

Here is your statement "AboutUs does respect robots.txt and never claimed to be Google".

I have a robots.txt file that Google, Yahoo!, and just about everyone else respects. Why should I have to write you to remove my information when I made my intensions clear?

I don't know if your concern has already been addressed. E-mail us over at if you still need help. KristinaWeis | **talk** 17:34, 13 July 2007 (PDT)

Your Web Page

Dear Sir Today I tried to register. Unfortunately, your web page in which I list my complaint did not permit me to continue. So I didn't. I included a lot of personal information for registration, but I was not permitted to answer all your questions regarding my problem So I didn't HankO

PS: Since I cannot figure out how to send this, I won't/

I'll be honest, this isn't making a lot of sense. Can you articulate your question or concern again? When you register all you have to include is a username and password, e-mail and real name are optional. KristinaWeis | **talk** 17:26, 13 July 2007 (PDT)

Coffman Financial Services

We would like our domain page to be locked from editing. Thank you, Coffman Financial Services.

Can you articulate the problems that you are encountering that make you want to request this? And for that matter, what web site are we talking about? This is a wiki and by nature it is editable by nature, so unless there is an extremely pressing case for a page to be locked we leave all pages editable. All changes made to all pages are patrolled by us and unconstructive edits are reverted. Let me know if you need further help. I would recommend that you take the tour(s) at WikiAnatomy to learn about wiki and this site. Thank you. KristinaWeis | **talk** 17:24, 13 July 2007 (PDT)

Catagories section update - how do I?

I want to update the Categories section to comply with your no domain rule, but I can't edit this section. How do I change the category my site page falls under?

You should be able to edit every section of every page essentially as this is wiki. To change the categories that your page falls under simply add or delete these categories from your DomainPage and they are automatically updated on the category pages themselves. Let me know if this doesn't work for you and I would recommend taking the tour(s) at WikiAnatomy to learn more about wiki and this site. KristinaWeis | **talk** 17:32, 13 July 2007 (PDT)

When do you refresh a page's information?

I had some random text I put on my index page, that came up when I used your domain search. I have since removed the text yet your search continues to keep the old information, is there anything I can do?

I am not sure that I completely understand your question. This is a wiki so any information on a WikiPage here can be edited by anyone, including you. So if you see outdated information, simply update it. If you need more help post another question below this, my reply. If you would like to learn more about wiki and/or AboutUs.org I would poit you towards the tours at WikiAnatomy. Good'ay. KristinaWeis | **talk** 17:21, 13 July 2007 (PDT)

Repeated abuse by anonymous user

I visited the AboutUs page for Rebate-Zone.com and noticed ongoing vandalism by IP address 72.148.248.222, despite two warnings on his talk page to conform to community review standards and relegate his opinions to the community review section.

For instance, he changed the contact information on that page to read "Jackass Enterprises," rather than "Helgeson Enterprises," and posted a non-conforming community review multiple times, one after the other. In addition, he also recently vandalized the AboutUs page for a related site, HelgesonENt.com.

Despite multiple rollbacks by several users, he continues to re-vandalize the AboutUs page for Rebate-Zone.com shortly after each correction, and the page still bears many of his vandalizations. Of the 19 edits in this user's history, all have violated AboutUs community standards and all but one have vandalized the page for Rebate-Zone.com.

I realize this user is angry after having been denied a rebate, but that hardly gives him the right to destroy any AboutUs page he chooses in revenge. Is there anything you can do to prevent this user from further vandalization?

You can see what the page looks like here: Rebate-Zone.com. The page has been temporarily locked so that only logged-in users may edit and the community reviews section has been properly formatted. Let me know if you have any questions. KristinaWeis | **talk** 17:45, 13 July 2007 (PDT)

Trademarks used without authorisation

You are not checking that you have authorisation to use trademarks in your page titles. More worryingly, you then provide a page which may be easily confused for an official page of the trademark. You must check all domain names and remove all of those which are trademarked.

If you are the owner of web sites that you would like removed from AboutUs.org please send an e-mail to from an e-mail address displaying your ownership and we would gladly removed the bot-generated content from these pages. KristinaWeis 17:14, 13 July 2007 (PDT)

German Whois-Information

Before i start: I am not a lawyer. I could be totally wrong.

Please go to http://www.denic.de/en/whois/ and type in any existing de-domain.

You will get the following text:

If you want further information about the holder of this domain, its special contacts and its technical data, you will first have to agree to the following Terms and Conditions of Use:

Terms and Conditions of Use

All the domain data that is visible in the whois search is protected by law. It is not permitted to use it for any purpose other than technical or administrative requirements associated with the operation of the Internet or in order to contact the domain holder over legal problems. You are not permitted to save it electronically or in any other way without DENIC's express written permission. It is prohibited, in particular, to use it for advertising or any similar purpose."

By storing german whois-data, aboutus is in direct violation of german laws, european laws (which may or may not apply to aboutus, seeing as it is located in the US) and in direct violation of the Terms of Use set in place by the Denic. These terms are a contract, which can be enforced in the US. I would suggest that aboutus hires a lawyer to look into this problem.

You are correct in your statement, if you gather it off that site you can't just reproduce it, we have our own access ss to the WHOIS and are allowed to republish it. The rules that cover WHOIS are similar in the United States as it is covered by ICANN (a U.S. company). --Simon | talk 14:05, 10 July 2007 (PDT)
That restrictions also goas for the original WHOIS-Service of the denic; please look at the banners.
Check out common concerns. MarkDilley

GWTools.com

Please change the entry to be MessagingArchitects.com. We transitioned the name from GWTools to Messaging Architects more than 3 years ago and now are working on some website optimization. One of the things we would like to do is completely eliminiate the GWTools reference for ranking purposes. Before we completely turn it off, however, we would like to update the links we have established. I tried doing the update myself but wasn't able to. Thank you in advance.

I redirected Gwtools.com to MessagingArchitects.com. I hope this helps. You can contact me at if you have any questions. I would also recommend you stepping through the tours at WikiAnatomy if you're interested in learning a bit more about wiki and this site. Thanks!

incorrect website name

My website is: Belle's Bath and Body Shoppe

Your spelling is incorrect, you have as: Belles Bat Hand Body Shoppe, please correct. Just what the hell is about us anyway??

Richard Carlton (User:Bellestores)

AboutUs.org is a wiki web site that at its simplest is a web site of web sites. Much of the site consists of DomainPages, but there are also Portals, PersonalPages, category pages, Help pages, and articles such as definitions. AboutUs is about community and people collaborating to build the commons and make the site an ever richer source of information and place to belong to for our active members. See AboutUs.org for a great overview of what we are all about. I would also suggest taking a peak at the first two tours at WikiAnatomy to learn about wiki and this one in particular.
Now to your more technical question. It would be helpful if you could specify the domain name you are asking about as DomainPages are formatted like AboutUs.org rather than by the company's name. And once you get to the page the CamelCase spelling is something that you can correct yourself (upon logging in) using the "move" tab at the top left. See Help:How do I fix the capitalization of an article? for more detailed instruction. I can also gladly do this for you once I know what page we are talking about. I would love to hear from you - you can leave me a message via the link below or e-mail me at Thank you. (You should have a brief e-mail and full reply on your talk page as well.)

Sub Domains and the Page/File/Article name.

Hi There

My concern with with creating an AboutUs entry for a blog which resides on a subdomain - like this: http://blog.domain.com

Now no matter how I enter this data the link in the artilce header and the thumbnail/visit site link is http://www.blog.domain.com.

I can using regular wiki code enter the proper domain name in the article but the header just can't seem to be edited - even if I change it to an extended domain like http://www.domain.com/blog/

Which I didn't want to do because this isa stand-alone blog, really...

Let me know if I have to move the whole page! :P Mediaguy

Hmmm maybe there's a webmaster I can contact directly about this? There seems to be no response...?

  • Sorry there is currently no way to change that. --Simon | talk 11:52, 1 August 2007 (PDT)
Hey, I don't know the answer to your question myself. Are you talking about Blog.LiveCamNetwork.com? Hmm... I would recommend jumping in the AboutUs Web IRC. There's usually always someone in there, and quite a few between 9 and 5 PST. KristinaWeis 11:49, 1 August 2007 (PDT)

  • Hi Erich, I have made a page for you. Now you can edit it Taska.hu

While we're waiting for the reply about the captcha, please give some thought to using your RealName. Generally people like to see real people, not made-up pseudonyms. It also lends a bit more credibility to your contributions if people know a real person (rather than a pseudonym) is contributing. Thanks. Nathan (talk) / 12:23, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
This concept of a "captcha" is an idea that we have tossed around to improve the quality of edits here at AboutUs.org, but it is not something that we currently have as far as I know. (Do you have an account/log-in yet? This is the first step in being able to leave messages for people.) Would you mind trying to leave a message on my talk page at User talk:KristinaWeis? Just hit the blue "leave a message" box at the top, write your message, sign it with three tildas (~) and hit save. If you are able to edit the ConcernsPage you shouldn't be experiencing problems on other pages so I am not sure. You can e-mail me at if you cannot get it to work. Thank you, KristinaWeis
I didn't think we had a captcha system set up. Nathan (talk) / 02:52, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Hydrogen Peroxide

We recently bought 4 big bottles (32 oz each) of peroxide at the Walmart in Prairie du Chien, WI. We are not satisfied with the results of it. It seems to be weak, not like any of the previously purchased bottles of peroxide. I believe that this should be checked into. I use peroxide to guarantee that harmful germs/bacteria are destroyed, not to have "some" destroyed. The imprinted ink on the bottle says: 6GF0013 EXP 06/2008. The UPC Seal is 81131 68758 4 and says, manufactured by: Cumberland Swan Smyrrna, TN 37167. My husband noticed the lack of fizz action immediatlely and mentioned it to me. I thought he was nuts. But then, when I rinsed my mouth, I too, noticed the decreased action; and then again when I soaked my earrings in another cap of the peroxide.

I would appreciate hearing back from you on this. I'm not happy about spending $4,00 on products not up to their regular potency.

Thank you, Judy Reimer

We are not Wal-Mart nor are we Wikipedia. We are AboutUs, a resource for the web. If you have some concerns with a product you purchased at Wal-Mart, please contact them directly. Nathan (talk) / 21:23, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

UMassWiki.com

Please scrub the domain contact info out of the UMassWiki.com article. It's no longer correct and the domain is now privately registered with DomainsByProxy. --76.102.234.170 20:25, 30 July 2007 (PDT)

How to create a Category

Request u to pls guide me How to create a new Category... like u have careers, skills, communication skills... may i pls know how to add a new category which is more precise.

(Posted by User:Mkreviews at 11:19, 31 July 2007)
You might want to spell "you" correctly ;-) Secondly, it's very easy to create a category (please don't create a category with one or two links), simply add [[Category:NameOfYourCategoryGoesHere]] to the bottom of any DomainPage. Nathan (talk) / 14:33, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

>> Thank You Nathan I tried it.. however, there is no such relevant category like Presentation Skills.. unlike communication skills or presentations

TheTrainingDen.com

Hello The information you have listed for thetrainingden.com is all wrong. The Training Den is a dog obedience center. I am the registered owner of the site. Could you either correct it or take it down?

Thank you Robin McCarron

As this is a wiki, you can very easily edit the information yourself. Please direct your attention to the Edit tab at the top of any DomainPage. Nathan (talk) / 14:29, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
