Welcome to the Swords of Might Samurai Swords section. http://www.swordsofmight.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=2 The Samurai sword (Also known as a katana) dates back in tradition to ancient times where a man depended on his blade to defend his life and his honor. Most of the Samurai Swords found here are well equipped for that purpose as well as for use in the art of Tameshigiri (Practice cutting with tatami or beach mats). Our Ninja swords (Also known as Nin-to) are also featured here and are equally impressive both for functionality (Paul Chen, Rittersteel, Masahiro, Musashi, Bushido) as well as for a classy show piece. (decorative) We have scoured the globe to bring you these Samurai Swords (Katana) and Ninja Swords at the most inexpensive prices around. Please choose the category below to further narrow your search.

The bokken is the most non lethal of the swords that we carry. A bokken is basically a wooden Samurai sword. If you want to begin to practice swordplay or are joining a dojo to begin sword training, a bokken is a must have tool to enable you to train without the danger of hurting yourself or someone else. Our bokkens are made of top quality materials and are used all over the world.

Decorative Samurai Swords are made for one purpose and one purpose only: to be displayed. They should never be swung at or near anything as they do not have the safety features nor do they posess the integrity of a functional sword to handle the rigors of practice or combat.

Masahiro Samurai swords are best suited for the beginner and entry level cutters. They feature medium to high carbon steel blades and full tangs with single or double pegged handles. The greatest single point about Masahiro Swords is their price to quality ratio.

Our Bushido handmade Samurai swords have blades of high carbon steel, very sharp and cut like a much more expensive sword. They are also well designed and have very flashy attributes.

Cold Steel is reknown worldwide for their production of incredibly tough knives. Cold Steel Samurai swords are just as tough. Made of 1050 carbon steel and mono tempered, they are nearly indestructable.

Ryumon Samurai Swords also have similar features to the Masahiro Swords, but also have Folded blades and differential tempering (Traditional clay method) to further enhance your cutting practice and value of the sword. Ryumon Swords are known for their excellent cutting ability and traditionally constructed samurai swords.

Musashi Samurai swords have become a force to reckon with in both the functional as well as economical departments. A great line of hand forged katanas that will perform just as well as many more expensive blades. Many of the Musashi swords are made at the famous Chris Zhou academy known for his incredible blademaking prowess and facilities.

Paul Chen Samurai Swords are a top tier and well trusted brand to get the most sword for your money. Like Masahiro and Ryumon, they also have hand forged blades and differential tempering, but have better polish, sharpening, blade geometry and overall fit and finish. These blades are made for the experienced practitioner or top tier collector.

Don't neglect our Other Functional Samurai Swords category just because they don't have a big name behind them. Each one is hand selected and tested by us to meet our strict standards for craftsmanship and durability. In this category you will also find more unconventional swords like reverse blades, Odachi, and nagamaki.
