- The Midwest Literary Festival in Aurora, Illinois is a terrific event and surely the only place this fall where you can chat up Joyce Carol Oates and Shadoe Stevens in the same afternoon. On Saturday, September 16 I'll be appearing on a humor panel with good friend (and MY FIRST PRESIDENTIARY co-author) John Warner at 10 AM. Also in on the discussion will be Kyle Smith, Jill Conner Browne, and Cynthia Langston. Then at 2 PM, I'll be joining David Morrell, James Rollins, JA Konrath, Raymond Benson, and David Angsten for a discussion of thrillers. Admission Saturday and Sunday is free although on Friday, September 17 I'll also be conducting a workshop for registered attendees.
