- I began with computers far earlier than most people - my first computer, in the early '70's, was a mainframe that I communicated with via a teletype machine. I finally owned my own first computer in the form of a Timex Sinclair. I moved, through the years, through Commodore's VIC-20, 64, and 128... playing around briefly with an Amiga, before finally getting my first 286 machine that ran DOS. I resisted Windows as long as I could (I'm a DOS poweruser at heart), finally admitting defeat, and began running Windows 98. I currently own a number of computers, and prefer to build my own computers - as I can save money and build a more powerful computer when I 'roll my own'.
