- Bioethics Forum conducts an experiment and expresses a hope. It seeks to promote smart, graceful, probing commentary on issues in bioethics – patient care, health policy, medical science and research, biotechnology, the beginnings and endings of life, and environment and health. It aims to provide the timeliness and liveliness that the Internet makes possible while drawing upon and developing the careful and thoughtful work that the Internet is not always known for. It is not a blog. It aspires to broaden and deepen the social debates about bioethical issues. As a service of the Hastings Center Report, it strives to live up to The Hastings Center’s 35-year tradition of bringing together people from different perspectives – with different professional backgrounds, life experiences, and political viewpoints – to share their ideas and collectively examine them.
