- Beat Portfolio is the central online presence of aspiring DJ Daren Welsh. Created in October 2005, BP represents a much-needed update from my old site trance-port.com. With the advancement of web technology, including software like WP, which make updating news and podcasting so easy, it was time for a major update. Along with the content and format update, I decided it was also time for a much less hyphenated domain. I also didn’t like having “trance” in my domain since I really don’t mix trance; I just listen to it from time to time. The name Beat Portfolio seemed like a good choice, as the main reason I have a web site is to promote myself as a DJ and to share the music that I love with others.
