- Bea brought something different to the paintball industry not just by being a female paintball player, but a vocal and knowledgeable promoter for the sport. In 2000, there weren’t many female players playing national tournaments, thus manufacturers began to search for females to help endorse their products. For Bea, it was more than just putting on a “happy face” and smiling for the camera. With her entertainment background as a vocalist and dj, she used her training as a performer to help promote the products of her sponsors. She would dj at major events and would eventually do television and radio interviews in order to present paintball in a tournament fashion. Ask anyone about paintball and the majority of people will refer to the woodsball side of the sport, but for Bea, it was about spreading the message about the tournament style of play. Any female that plays paintball today can be a player and also be “attractive” by using the “Sex Sells” image, but not every female player can also explain the sport to the masses the way that Bea has. For Bea, she contributes more than that through her writing for international paintball magazines, announcing and commentating at national and overseas events, teaching at national paintball camps, and taking the time to explain the sport in a way that most people would understand.
