- The Air Weather Association was chartered in 1987 for men and women whose armed forces careers were with US Army/Air Force or Air Force weather units - past and present. Before then, there was no weather service organization dedicated to those who serve or served in a ground or aerial reconnaissance weather unit or weather training function. THIS IS YOUR ASSOCIATION, the only one of its kind, whether you are on active duty, in the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve, or a veteran of service with a USAAF or USAF weather unit.
