Parking Lots
I think it is simply impossible to mark even a small part of all the spam and parked pages manually or even those who simply claim wrong things in their meta keywords. InternetSearchEngine was one of the smaller categories and it literally took me ages to clean it up (it was more for demonstration purposes).
Firstly, the crawler needs to learn how to detect parked domains. If this isn't the first step before a major clean up, it is just going to fill up everything with wrong claims and parking lots again.
My suggestion would be to completely erase the most-spammed categories and have the users add sites to them manually again so all the shit gets sorted out. But first, the crawler needs to be fixed or maybe changed to not to automatically insert sites into categories anymore but leave that completely to the users.
I'd like to stress that I think this is a major problem of AboutUs and should be fixed very soon. I was stunned not to find a single comment or complaint on the completely trashed categories anywhere. Yarcanox 10:02, 13 December 2008 (PST)
