UpdateThumbnail
Our thumbnails are provided by Name Intelligence/Domain Tools. If a page is showing an incorrect thumbnail, or an outdated thumbnail, or not showing a thumbnail at all, it is possible to refresh thumbnails:
- Open the Aboutus page for the webpage. for example, www.aboutus.org/example.com
- Look for the "Website Information" badge. It's usually right on top.
- Click on the "DomainTools.com" link.
- When you see the outdated thumbnail to the right, click queue thumbnail for update link. (If you've updated several thumbnails already, this option may not show. Try again after a while.)
- The thumbnail has now been queued to be updated. This can take up to a half an hour, but once it has been updated, the AboutUs.org page for this domain will have the new thumbnail.
- If the thumbnail doesn't update, just visit the AboutUs chat page, and ask staff to 'purge' the page for you.
- The update-thumbnail request at domain tools can be made once in a while, up to weekly or as long as monthly, and you know when the last request was made by checking the date above the thumbnail. For example: Thumbnail: 2007-04-19 (keep in mind the initial call to create the thumbnail was probably made automatically.)
