DetectBadNeighbors
Revision as of 04:41, 5 November 2007 by Brandon CS Sanders (talk | contribs) (Figure out how to avoid sending traffic and energy toward bad actors ... perhaps turn on no-follow for all of our links? and then provide a mechanism to turn them back on for good sites?)
What (summary)
Stop linking to bad actors so that we are no longer penalized for being part of "bad neighborhoods".
Why this is important
When you link to sites that are considered to be spammers or otherwise bad actors, the search engines begin to think that you are a bad actor as well and penalize you.
DoneDone
- Every site that we link to has been tested to see whether it is a banned site or not
- Every site that we link to that is banned, we link to with a nofollow
