TAKE MY NAME OFF ANY REFERENCE REGARDING YOU AND POLICY.. I refuse to participate in any project with a man who is breaking the law and talks about having sex with his own children. Misha

Please DO NOT EDIT this page as this page is the basis for a new company policy and all modifications should be discussed and then agreed to by members of administration of this website. This being the case this policy IS NOT in anyway considered standard operating procedure for the AboutUs.org website and shall not be used for any context which denotes acceptance by either the staff or of any users of the community.

Policy
There is further consideration required but to protect our community from some of the obviously harmful questionable content related websites we have decided the following:

(We do acknowledge that some and and not all website that have pedophilia related topics are not illegal and further would be considered safe for a g rated audience but we cannot view every page of every website on the internet of this topic to find out if this is the case as you can certainly appreciate, We have created this generic policy to allow our members to tag a site that may potentially cause harm to a child that may visit it and we would rather have unfortunately tagged 10 websites than not have tagged a website that harms a child and I think we can all agree that this is most certainly a valid point. Please always remember that we respect all members of our community and are still discussing this policy and welcome your input here)

# Our website (www.aboutus.org) will not host or display illegal questionable content.

# Some WikiPages on our website (www.aboutus.org) will describe or catalog other websites on the Internet that do host and display Questionable Content.  These pages will be designated as relating to questionable content websites.

# This policy may be changed only by a statement that achieves higher participation and agreement than that used to ratify any earlier version of the policy.

Interpretation
* A special exception is made for the titles of WikiPages that refer to existing domain names.  Some websites that we will refer to on our WikiPages will have obscene domain names that we would normally excluded from our pages.

* Questionable images of children (including thumbnails) are not displayed on our pages

* Wiki Pages that refer to pornographic sites will be tagged as  RefersToAdultContent

* Wiki Pages that refer to No Nude pedophilia websites shall need revision before final tagging is made as there is a lot of bias in relation to the subject and a person with both the experience and legal knowledge can judge each site on its own merits. (This shall ALWAYS be a community decision)

* Wiki Pages that refer to clothed models that are under legal the age of 18 that are in obscene or otherwise sexually related positions including zooms of genitalia and or inappropriate or sexually suggestive poses.

* Disturbingly graphic depictions of violence aren't displayed on our pages (if it were a movie, the content on our site needs to get a PG-13, PG, or G rating.)

* Any animated material (often referred to as lolicon) that pertains to children in sexual related or otherwise questionable conduct are not to be displayed on our sites and will also be tagged questionable content and AdultContent.

* Wiki Pages that refer to sites that contain nudity of children that is not of the professional creative art photography type such as Ann Geddies shall be tagged as Questionable content and depending on graphic level may also be tagged as AdultContent.

* Wiki Pages that refer to sites that contain graphic depictions of violence will be tagged as RefersToAdultContent

Implementation
* The terms of service and other related policy documents will be updated to reflect the outcome of this process.

* Viewers will see a notice at the top of the website in question that is not overly dominating but is noticeable by all users.

* Questionable content pages should not be displayed in RecentChanges, the Presence Meters, RandomPage, or in any of the normal areas of the site.

* To prevent unwanted associations, flagged pages will not be categorized or have related domains that cross the walled garden boundary.

** This is to prevent losing people who mind-wiped their presence on AboutUs because their domains got inadvertently linked with porn by the search engines.

** Also to prevent complaints about sites added to the "related domains" on some  article that refers to an questionable content site.

* We hope to run a script to automatically flag most of the pages that refer to sites that contain questionable content (it won't do a perfect job). After flagging the script it should also remove category and related domain information, although users can add these later (as long as the links are to content inside the wall).

* As we need to, we'll change the implementation to better implement the policy.

* As we need to, we'll institute better policies using a method that honors the same principles that guided the development of the original policy.

* The mechanism for getting over the wall (ie. logged in users only, verified real people only, no minors or the like) will need to be worked out in implementation planning after this policy has been ratified.

* Misha (Arguing completely block everything relating to the subject of pedophilia)

* Art (The user that create this policy after modifying the existing Adult Content Policy (a firm starting point for discussions) Arguing block the illegal content but allow legal material - difficult to judge I agree but perhaps we can create a level rating for sites in this genre and then create user poll system and community members can then judge for themselves without needing to write explanations in their comments and simply click the value they feel the site has to the community - again only suggestion)
