Life at freewebs.com

MiCCAS started its life at FreeWebs, a site where you can have your own Website free of charge. This proved very restrictive as the owner learnt more about HTML coding. He stuck by the site for a few years though.

.TK domain

MiCCAS moved itself over onto a domain name, www.miccas.tk. This actually linked to the freewebs account, but as it was a TLD the owner left it. The 2 downsides of using this .tk address was the ads and also that the owner couldn't use www.miccas.tk/pagename.html!

It was www.miccas.tk for a few years, but not for long.

Wild IT As the owner of MiCCAS.net, Michael, finally got BroadBand at his house, he found it rather hard to switch over his email accounts that were at the .tk address. So he took the leap and moved the site over to www.miccas.wildit.net.au. This was hosted free of charge thanks to Wild Internet & Telecom.

This was the very first time that Michael had ever used Joomla, an open source content management system. He used the default skin, changing only a few images to "customise" it. This is where the site really started to become what it is today. Of course, the restriction of using a subdomain was hard, but the owner had no real issues with it.

Then, as the site was migrated to Linux, losing "Plesk", he decided it was time to move. Of course, at his age he couldn't do so.

www.MiCCAS.net Michael took the leap and decided to post on a well known Australian Forum Whirlpool.net.au requesting information on domain name prices. This is where Jared from serversaustralia.com.au found Michael and offered him free hosting and a free domain name
