DomainSponsor.com offers a domain monetization service that allows domain owners to park their domains with DomainSponsor.com, who in turn feed the domains with search related ads. If you’ve ever visited a domain that is most empty except for a search form and few links related to items you may have been searching for then you are familiar with parked domains, they would look similar to cnomy.com. Parked domains usually don’t have a lot of substantial information and are mostly created to make money for pay per click or search campaigns. DomainSponsor.com was formed in 2002 and is a division of Oversee.net a technology media company based in Los Angeles, CA.

Profile

Domain monetization is an interesting industry and DomainSponsor claims to be the premiere site for the service and can handle up to 500,000 or more domains for its individual clients. Other services provided by DomainSponsor.com include domain sales and an affiliate program for marketers. Its parent company Oversee.net also offers marketing and lead generation services and currently has 150 employees.

Its referral and affiliate program offers marketers 10% of the sale price for domains in its network and unlimited sales. Domain selling is available to domain owners (publishers) for free and domain parking works by DomainSponsor.com providing custom landing search pages for all the publishers’ domains. When visitors arrive at the domain accidentally or otherwise, if they click on a link, the domain owner makes a small fee for the click and DomainSponsor.com takes a small cut of all clicks to the publisher’s site.

It really creates an interesting win, win situation for the publisher and DomainSponsor.com also and the potential to make a good deal of money over time. The trick of course is to actually get traffic to the virtually empty sites and getting site visitors to stay for a while. Getting them to come back would be very difficult due to lack of interesting content, unless the site is used as a search engine, in which case it could do very well for all clicks. Usually though, the sites experience passers by rather than frequent users.

Fortunately, DomainSponsor.com does its best to make sure that the domains in its network are optimized everyday to improve the chances of traffic. The latest version of their system is DomainSponsor 3.0 and allows publishers to modify and track their domains and earnings. DomainSponsor.com also started a trade show called T.R.A.F.F.I.C. in 2004, in Del Ray Beach, Fl for marketers and SEO professionals.

Other Features

Other features provided and promised by DomainSponsor.com are fast payouts by check or paypal, high traffic conversions, site optimization, near real time detailed reporting, easy set up & management and flexible agreement terms. Publishers can handle all these account features including selling domains and the referral program right from the DomainSponsor 3.0 online account. Oversee.net also owns 3 other web sites called Renevenue.net – an online ad network, information.com which is a search engine and Targetwords.com - a paid search program. Oversee.net was formed in 2000 by Fred Hsu and Lawrence Ng.
