Description
AFSCME members maintain our state highways, process our court records, stand post at our state prisons, care for our elderly in nursing homes, and keep our universities running. They are also the people who keep many of our public schools operating, our county roads plowed and our city streets free of litter. Throughout AFSCME Iowa’s history , members have striven to maintain the high quality of public service Iowans expect.
AFSCME Iowa is made up of over 100 self-governing Locals. Our district coordinates efforts between and among locals, trains and educates our volunteer leaders, provides representational and bargaining support to members and locals, and speaks with one voice to our state lawmakers.
