Opera Software ASA

Opera started in 1994 as a research project inside Norway’s largest telecom company, Telenor. Within a year, it branched out into an independent development company named Opera Software ASA. It currently has a wide variety of projects it maintains, most of which relate to internet browsing. It's best known for offering security on a wide range of devices.

Web Browsers Opera Browser-A web browser for personal computers.Currently available only for Windows. (Currently at version 10.00) Opera Mini-A web browser for mobile devices that's designed to simulate a personal computer web browser. Several features it offers include: a virtual mouse, the ability to search for text within a website, and bookmarks.(Version 4.2) Opera Mobile-A web browser for PDA's and smartphones that runs a full web browser application. Several features it offers include: widgets, tabbed browsing, password manager, and Opera Dragonfly. Currently available for Windows Mobile and Symbian. (Version 9.7) Opera Devices-A web browser available for the Nintendo WII and the Nintendo DSi, and the only one of its kind.

Web Developer Tools Opera Dragonfly (Open source)-A tool included in the Opera Browser and Opera Mobile, designed to help web developers find and remove glitches within their website. Available for Windows only. Opera Unite-A tool designed to help you share data with others. Some features it offers include: Web server creation, file sharing, note exchanging (called the Fridge), and chatrooms.

Other Tools Opera Link-A synchronization tool, that updates bookmarks, browser history, custom searches, etc. on multiple computers at the same time. Opera Mail-An email client built into the Opera Browser. Some features it offers include: AI technology, spamfilters, offline access, and low bandwidth mode. Available for Windows only. (Version 10.00)
