Within AboutUs and open-edit wikis this refers to a person making an edit that has either not created an account or is not logged in. An edit by an anonymous user will be logged in the history via their IP address.
Here at AboutUs we encourage but do not require people to log in to make edits; however, there are certain benefits to being a "non-anonymous" person editing at AboutUs.
