Currently subdomains (e.g. xyz.com/wxyz or xyz.uvw.com, etc.) are not automatically created by the AboutUs bot and must be added manually.

You have two options.

  1. Use this tool to have the Domain Page Boilerplate added to the page for you to fill in. To create a subdomain, please type the details into the text box below, then press enter or click Create Subdomain.

    type=create width=30 break=no preload=Create_Subdomain/Preload buttonlabel=Create Subdomain bgcolor=#FFFFFF editintro=Create_Subdomain/EditIntro default=sub.domain.com

  2. Add the name in the URL listing of your browser. So that it reads:

    http://www.aboutus.org/xyz.uvw.com
    or
    http://www.aboutus.org/xyz.com/wxyz

    This will give you new page with no text, click the "edit this page link". Once you're in the edit window, copy in the following:

    {{subst:Subdomain}}

    and hit save. Edit the resulting page, just like any other wiki page on AboutUs. Please note: while the "thumbnail" technology works on top-level domains like "SnapNames.com", sometimes it doesn't work for subdomains. If it doesn't, you can always remove it in the "Edit" mode near the top of the page, between the <thumbnail> and </thumbnail> tags.

  3. Thanks for your help. We have great problems here. A ball-lightning destroyed a month ago thousends of PCs , telephones and printers. I bought a new PC but have still to wait for a new printer about a fortnight. Thank you meanwhile so much for help.Omenvorte 17:42, 15 October 2007 (PDT)
