Meetings

PLUG meets three times a month. On the first Thursday of the month is our general meeting, where after a brief period devoted to an introduction, PLUG business, and announcements related to UNIX, Linux, Open Source and Free Software, we are treated to a presentation that runs 60-90 minutes on a wide variety of topics. Past speakers have included Greg Kroah-Hartman, Jeff Waugh, Keith Loftstrom, Randall Schwartz, Ward Cunningham and Ray King.

There is also an Advanced Topics Talk every third Monday. And last is our monthly clinic at Free Geek every third Sunday to help new users experiencing problems with their Linux (and UNIX) home computers.

Projects

Projects that have had their start either in PLUG meetings or with PLUG members include the K-12 Linux project and Portland Personal TelCo.

Featured Page Nomination

PDXLinux.org has been nominated to be a featured wiki page. Please discuss this nomination below:

Pdxlinux.org featured discussion

  • Edit/Add to this Discussion
  • First nominated on 15:39, 7 August 2007 (PDT)
  • Pdxlinux.org seems very informative especially with the list of great minds that have spoke in the past! Perhaps by adding some of the rich history that the site has into the AboutUs domain page would entice more interested individuals to visit the site! Also, by adding a link to the IRC channel, "#orlug" may prove to be fruitful! Great Start!--DaughertyBw 07:05, 17 September 2007 (PDT)
  • No edits in quite some time so moving to LastChance today. TedErnst (talk) 16:57, 26 February 2008 (PST)
