What (summary)

A task from the InviteParticipation project. See especially the InfluenceUs task that peeled off a part of this project.

Provide users with options on domain pages:

Domain Representative Options

  • This is great, how can I improve my page more? -> Send user to questionnaire which builds an improved page, and then drop them off with help so they can do more in a free form manner afterwards
  • How can I watch this page and get updates if it changes? -> Send user to related help screens
  • How can I OptOut? -> Give them an easy way to NoBot and explain what a NoBot is
  • Proof of actual ownership can be established in the case of conflict

Reader Options

  • The organization behind this website is great, I want to write a rave review -> Send user to a questionnaire which guides them through this process and then leaves the review on the site
  • I think this organization can improve and I want to provide some constructive suggestions -> Sends user to a questionnaire which carefully guides them through creating constructive criticism

  • At the end of either process, the user must be logged in with a valid e-mail address. User should also be encouraged to have a decent user page so that the organization knows they are a real person.
  • and e-mail the owner when either of the above happen

Why this is important

This will make "what to do" clearer for people arriving cold at a domain page, and encourage the kind of participation we want.

DoneDone

When the above options are made available to owners and readers alike and we can test a few members of both constituents to see if they feel that the instructions are clear and results as expected.
