About us

The York Daily Record/Sunday News is a morning newspaper in York, Pa. The newspaper has distinguished itself in many ways. Its origin in 1796 places it among the top 15 oldest newspapers in the United States. The Daily Record/Sunday News also is part of a joint operating agreement. The York JOA is the most recent one approved by the U.S. attorney general and also located in the smallest circulation area of all the remaining JOA newspapers. The JOA means that two competitive daily newspapers cover a relatively small community. About 370,000 people live in York County's circulation area. Despite its size, York County is a newsy town.
