The World Olympians Association (WOA), in partnership with the City of Osaka, is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2006 Osaka Awards: Nawal El Moutawakel, Olympic champion, IOC member since 1998, Tom Shepard, Executive Vice President of Global Merchant Partnerships and Sponsorship for Visa International, and International Olympic Committee Athletes’ Commission (accepting on behalf of the IOC AC is Sergey Bubka, who has been Chairman since 2002). This annual Award was created to honour and show appreciation to those individuals and organisations who have supported or assisted Olympians and the Olympic Movement.
