WhoWeAre:Stage2:ImprovingTheDocument
What
- Improving the WhoWeAre document for Stage 2
Why
- Stage 2 is for brain storming and making sure all our ideas have been clearly articulated.
DoneDone
- When the community members working on this task agree that the document is easily understandable, indicated by a YES here:
-
When the values, who we are serving and mission statement have been integrated into the document. -
When all staff have been invited to understand how important this is, and to participate. -
when all participants have been invited to take a look at the modified document.
Steps we expect to take to get to DoneDone
-
Removing the unnecessary/irrelevant parts from the current document -
Transclude values, who we are serving and mission statement in WhoWeAre Stage 2 page(?)- Ted struck this 15:33, 5 November 2007 (PST) not because it's done, but because it feels premature. Let's come back to this in a future task.
- Leave a note on each participant's page to view the changes that have been made to the document and asking for further input.
- Obed, Asad, Kasey and Ted do tutorials with the staff Weds & Thurs to get them signed up. We answer questions, etc.
- Friday we do talk page messages for everyone on the "haven't seen it yet" list to invite them to take a look.
- We include the inactive notice with those messages (including Umair and Blake who are no longer with the staff).
- We wait, and listen.
- While we're doing that, we need to add the stage 3 consensus poll thresholds and such.

Hello All,
I'm sure many of you have heard of WhoWeAre. This is a consensus poll to clarify the mission and vision of AboutUs. This initiative is a very important step towards broadcasting our intent and creating greater involvement in the AboutUs project.
We consider everyone's input critical.
That said, WhoWeAre:Stage2 is well underway. We are identifying and clarifying Who we are serving, all our values as well as our AboutUsCoreValues as a community. All of these pieces are critically important to crafting and adopting a final (for now) MissionStatement. The MissionStatement is one of the most (the most?) important pieces that investors are looking at when deciding whether to give us venture capital. This process is also essential to executing our public messaging, including blogs and press releases. In essence, it is crucial for our success.
It would really be great to have participation from most staff (those who are interested). If you are interested, please jump in as a NotYet status. Kasey, Obed, Asad and Ted are all available to help you with getting added to the process if you need it, or just to talk over what this is and how to participate.
This is an exciting time to be working for AboutUs and we look forward to all your contributions.
