About Wexford
Wexford, town and county, snug on the south-east coast of Ireland boasts a rich heritage and owes its origins and early development to Celtic and Viking influences and Norman settlements. With its one hundred mile coastline the county boasts the country’s richest agricultural land and some of the most spectacular scenery. The town of Wexford, the county capital, is a charming quayside settlement. With its ancient narrow streets it is now a vibrant economic town and yet it remains small enough to be truly taken over by its Festival.
In addition to the Festive delights on offer here there are seaside walks, the wonderful renovated Quayside and many restaurants and bars to visit. Most importantly there is the intimacy of Wexford and the warmth of the welcome.
