Description
Timothy D. Bellavia was born in 1971 in Buffalo, New York. He lives, works, and teaches art in New York City. Mr. Bellavia holds both a Bachelor of Science degree from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY and an M.F.A. from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Bellavia is also an alumnus of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, Maine, as well as the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
Bellavia's art has hung in museums and galleries around the country. He has also worked as a independent curator at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, has appeared on the runways of several alternative fashion shows, and has danced back-up for the pop star Cyndi Lauper.
Mr. Bellavia's various productions, fine art and performances have been reviewed in The New York Times, The Daily News, The Village Voice, New York Newsday, and The Resident, among other publications.
