To spend a few days at Waterville Valley is to get a sense of the allure of New England. Our little mountain village is set apart from the routine of daily life, surrounded by 770,000 acres of pristine National Forest land, without being so removed that you can't get here from Boston in about two hours.
Yet in spite of how accessible it is, Waterville Valley isn't on the way to anything-making our little town at the end of the road truly a world unto itself. Which is one of the main reasons that guests have been coming here for 100 years. As a result, life here tends to resound with a rhythm all its own.
With so much open land and so many ways to enjoy it, the resort feels less congested than other places. Because we're so self-contained, all of Waterville Valley's Lodging is centered around the village, and just a short walk to virtually everything you'll want to do while you're here. And since the pace tends to be a little more easygoing, the people you'll meet tend to be that way too. Not just the other visitors, but the locals as well.
