I was with two companions when one said: Look at this! Tell me how anybody pays good money for a such a piece of dry paint? I said that I like what I see and intend to buy it right away. The owner was called and we made our deal. I find this painting magnificient and study it every day. We started the oldest art talk in Western culture and ended with a bet among friends concerning my judgement versus world opinion.
Visipix agreed to make this contest. My friends and I pay 1% of the purchase price to the person making the closed estimate of the price of this painting.
But let us all remember Oscar Wilde's remark: "A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.
