Description
Viridor Credits-Caradon is an independent company, limited by guarantee, which started in 2001 as the Roseland Environmental Trust. The change of name came when Pennon Group subsidiary Viridor purchased the business in July 2002. It joined a national network of charitable companies working with Viridor under the Viridor Credits banner, and will continue to support community and environmental projects within the local community using monies donated to it under the Government's Landfill Tax Credit Scheme. The regulations were revised from April 2003 and the amount of landfill tax credits available was reduced to 6.5% of the tax collected on waste going to landfill. The landfill operator can claim a credit of 90% of the donation, the remaining 10% being a donation from their profits.
