- VerticalXchange (VX) opened its doors for business on April 16th, 2001. This unique business model was developed by Greg Geisler, President. Greg identified a need for a new innovative approach for bringing together a small group of senior decision makers representing a significant portion of the buying power with a finite number of pre-qualified senior executives representing leading manufacturers and solution providers whose solutions precisely match the specific initiatives of the buy-side. He felt that the traditional trade show model, while a sufficient medium for small firms, did not serve the needs of larger corporations, spending millions of dollars on capital expenditures. Since the launch of the first event in the summer of 2002 VX has grown at an exponential rate. VX produced 17 events in 2006 and will be producing in excess of 20 events by the end of 2008.
