Acer America After having my new Acer T180 and then going from Vista basic to vista premium trial. My System crashed. I called Microsoft and they supplied a new activation, without any other info but, Computer crashed on upgrade. I installed an it installed on the c drive. System was sluggish purchased the upgrade and went for the "clean install" My system still handled poorly.
Finally after installing to the partitioned d drive. I downloaded the new install "Upgrade" Now the computer crashed big time. I called Acer, they quickly sent me to and individual who in a matter of seconds and with no more info but a crash, he said I needed the restore disks. They arrived promptly. I went straight for the bay door an waited for it to boot into new ops.
It didn’t, I called acer, they went thru 2 keyboard alt's. The alt-del and the alt-f10.Both had no reaction, I was then given a trouble ticket ra # and was told how I was suppose to ship it. My cost...
Well im disabled on a fixed income ,live in an area where mail is a privilege to receive at the post office ,my mail box has of yet, had it‘s door opened once. Flag or no flag. Another purchase wasted.( Last 11 months since I have moved here after an awful divorce that cleaned my clock). Which opens 5 hours a day, trying to make a little on selling my own possessions to survive.
Well I have only had it over a month, had up and running a week ago, when I was going along well and able to register my product. The tech said sept 11th,2007 .yeah a week ago.
Well, why do I have to put it in a triple wrap enclosure an mail it in an wait for it to arrive back, to be back into a new state. Also that it will be loaded back with home basic. The program that upgrading with the included disc ,soon crashed afterwards. Woopy. I don't have my music, my files are gone. Now, I have to spend out more money. Hogwash...I think they should pickup an handle the repair work, something doesn’t sound right. This was a NEW unit, not a refurb , well as much as I know, it did come from Wal-Mart..
A little help please, Ed Kelly
- Ed Kelly,
- I'm very sorry to hear your story, and more sorry that I am unable to help. It definitely seems like you need some technical help, possibly by a live person in your home. Unfortunately, we don't do that. We are AboutUs.org, a wiki resource for the internet. We have pages for Acer and Microsoft (and just about everyone else) where members of the site can share their experiences. I will also email you this message. Please let me know if you'd like to talk more about what AboutUs.org is about, and what help we provide. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem we can help you solve your problem.
