Welcome to AboutUs Alan! I see you tried to add the site tools but discovered the thumbnails don't alwasy work for subdomains. Thanks for trying. I will add something, to see if you think it works. LEt me know if you have any questions. Best, MarkDilley

Thank you for your help, Mark. As far as I am concerned, I don't need a thumbnail, but I tried to add one because a bot suggested that I do so. In some places, bots have a way of enforcing conformity. Is that true on aboutus.org?

Regards,

Alan

Hi Alan, great work on your pages. I love how the yun.thwaits.googlepages.com page is multi-lingual. I'm going to add this to our queue to be a featured WikiPage in the next couple of days. I went ahead an built a new thumbnail-like box for both yun.thwaits.googlepages.com and Chinese.Japanese.Translator.Googlepages.com because of the thumbnail breaking (as above) and then read your note. Teaches me to check in with people before trying to be helpful :)

Anyway, I hope you like the thumbnail box, but if you don't go ahead and take it down or modify. To answer your question to Mark, we certainly like the thumbnail boxes because it adds some conformity, but it's most definitely not something we believe in enforcing. (And in fact, if you notice, I broke the conformity to do your boxes.)

I did also make one other change that might seem odd. Both pages have now been moved to have a "." at the end of the name. This was done because the URL link that is the title was creating a 404 error when clicked (because it's adding the "www." prefix automatically and we can't turn that off), the added "." is to force our system to not treat the page title as a link. I was worried that the broken link would cause confusion with users who'd then think your webpages weren't online. Part of the changes to the thumbnail box I did was also to make sure the links to your site were prominent. Hopefully in the near future the title link problem will be fixed and we can move the page names back. In the mean time though, the way I moved the pagename, searches on our system and on Google with your page names will still show up correctly.

Best,

P.S. I'm sure you're quite busy, but the AboutUs community has been needing some volunterr translation help occasionally into and from Chinese and Japanese. Anytime you'd have to volunteer would help make AboutUs an valuable multi-lingual resource. If interested, just let me know by clicking the Talk link after my name. You can also always email me at
