Jeff Bach is the owner of Quietwater Media. You can find both in Stoughton, WI., USA. Living in the heart of midwestern flyover country like this has allowed a life long love affair with water and moving small boats around on top of the water. Most of the time anyway. Water and boats led to several years spent guiding canoe trips in the BOundary Waters Canoe area as well as more time guiding whitewater out west in other flyover spaces. Water and boats led to starting Quietwater Films, which created and currently produces a line of instructional DVDs about canoeing, kayaking and fishing. wavetrainSUP and quietwater paddles are two more creations having sprung up from this water affair. wavetrainSUP makes and sells paddle kits for people that want to make their own laminated bent shaft wood paddleboard paddles. Similarly, quietwater paddles is all about kits for those paddlers interested in making their own bent shaft laminated wood canoe paddles.

Back in the day, Jeff lived and worked in Idaho, another flyover state. As a river guide on the Main and Middle Forks of the Salmon River, he experienced some of the best places and times of his life. Looking back on those days on the river is inspiring a blatant act of fiction writing. River and Ranch is a book about some international intrigue and mischief surrounding a river guide and a ranch woman. The river guide and the ranch woman live their lives around Salmon, Idaho, a speck on the map deep in flyover country, surrounded by many awesome places that the vast space of central Idaho holds, from Lost Trail Pass to living on a ranch high above the Lemhi River.
