- The Committee for Admission of Taiwan to the United Nations (CATUN) was established in 1992 through Taiwanese American Council of Greater New York representing more then 10 Taiwanese American Organizations in the area, in the purpose of promoting the visibility of Taiwan in the international society through grass-root diplomacy, proclaiming the rights of Taiwanese people to participate the international organizations. Since the establishment, in addition to organizing annual mass rally during the assembly of the United Nations in September, CATUN is constantly arranging seminars and cultural events to promote and seek world justice for Taiwan.
