In 1965 I qualified as a Driving Instructor and worked at a Driving School in Wood Green, North London. I passed the advanced driving test with the Institute of Advanced Motorist's, the Driving Standard's Agency Approved Driving Instructor's examinations and was granted Grade 6 and the Driving Standards Agency examination, DSA Cardington Grade A certificate. I have also undertaken a teachers training course in Further and Higher Education and taught in local 6th Form Colleges.
When I moved to Lancashire in 1969 I bought an established Driving School in Blackpool and taught in the Austin 1100. In those days it was the most popular Driving School car. Since then we have progressed through the Vauxhall, Ford, Chrysler and British Leyland marques to our present fleet of the all new Nissan Micra SE with air conditioning, ABS and without a doubt the best Driver training vehicle produced to date.
The School expanded through the 1970's, 80's and 90's to present time and has evolved as "UK Driving Courses". Over this period the School has become the UK's No 1 Residential Driving School.
