About Us

Description

Suppose a clerk, a cashier or an employee at a food processing plant needed a day off to move to a new house, to look after a sick child, or because the worker himself unexpectedly became ill. Does the worker call the supervisor or department head and ask for the time off? Who can the worker go to if the supervisor says "no"?

Or perhaps an employee has been a loyal, productive worker for the past several years. She knows the company is doing well and making money, and believes she is worth more than she is earning and deserves a raise. Who does she ask for the raise? What if her request is denied or she is not offered enough?

Or what if management suddenly informs a dedicated employee with 17 years of seniority, a spouse, and children ready for college that a larger company is acquiring the business that wants only younger employees? The employee may be over 40, but still many years from retirement. What can he do? Who can he talk to about finding a new job?
