Thank you for visiting my web site, my name is Janet Barton and I was born and educated in Manchester where I gained my formal secretarial qualifications at a secretarial college in Manchester in the mid 1970’s. My qualifications include: RSA Typing Grade III in which I gained a distinction and Pitman Shorthand 110 wpm in which I also gained a distinction.
I then went on to perform a variety of secretarial and senior PA roles until in 2004 I left my then employer of 17 years and set up my own business - Typing for Business.
I also worked for a time in the Public Sector and was formerly trained and examined in Audio Transcription, at this time I also gained experience in the typing of scientific formulas and produced scientific reports and tables on a regular basis for the academic staff in the establishment.
