Fred Hutchings is a long time resident ot Prince Rupert, He’s been sport fishing the waters of Prince Rupert since 1971. Having spent several summers of his youth working a commercial troller for salmon has given him intimate knowledge of the habits and techniques used to catch salmon commercially, and this has been carried over to help him catch more salmon sport fishing. Some of Fred’s skills include Scuba diving, professionally trained first aid attendant ( 32 years with the Prince Rupert Fire Dept), Member of Tourism Prince Rupert, and the Chatham Sound Charter Boat Association.
The Boat
Our 1998 21ft Bayliner Trophy (walk around) is powered by a 150 hp Mercury out board motor, with a 4 stroke Honda 9.9 for ultra quiet trolling and back up engine. This fishing machine will cruise at 25-30 knots with a top speed of 40 knots and will get you to where the fish are fast and safely. Once you're on the fishing grounds this vessel is equipped with the finest in electronics and fishing gear including VHF Marine Radio, Cell Phone, Lowrance sounder, plotter, gps, Cannon Downriggers, Shimano Rods and Penn Level wind reels. The variety of rods range from spinning, mooching, level winds, to Heavy Halibut Rods & reels.
