- With rapidly expanding sales and distribution of our first Stratocaster pickup line, we decided in 2005 to build our own state of the art pickup manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China, just over the border from Hong Kong, and the first strat, tele and humbucker pickups produced in Asia featuring world-beating specifications, reliability and tonal performance were shipped in early 2006. Over the last two years, the roster of artists and custom shops using Tonerider pickups has grown considerably and our products are now sold and played in nearly 20 countries. In 2007, we opened a small sales office in Shanghai – China’s commercial and creative hub, and a city with a small but thriving music scene.
