Welcome to the Thornbury Primary School web-site. I must congratulate everyone concerned for all the hard work in making this facility available, I hope you find it as interesting and informative as I have.
I became a school governor when my two children attended the school, I took an interest in the school and what makes it ‘tick’. The governing body consists of people from all walks of life, business and professional people, councillors, staff from school, L.E.A. representatives and of course parents. These people make up three committees; Finance & Personnel, Curriculum and Building & Sites. These committees meet once a term to discuss matters applicable to them and then are required to report back to the fully governing body which meets once a term.
People ask me why I continue with my role at the school now that my children have left, to me Thornbury is like an extended family, the school excels in many aspects of education, which in turn is passed down to the children , enabling them to reach their full potential as far as their education is concerned, and I very much enjoy being part of that. Education is changing all the time and here at Thornbury we strive to provide the best for your child.
