Our Guiding Principles
- * Affordable water is a human right.
- * Local democratic involvement over a shared resource is essential.
- * Water should not be traded as a commodity
- * Water is a finite resource and water conservation is essential.
Outreach objectives:
- * Remind viewers and political leaders across the country that privatization of water is not a quick fix for under-funded, outdated, even mismanaged water systems.
- * Promote alternatives including a water affordability policy to ensure low-income people have access to water
- * Strengthen and build coalitions of community, labor, consumer, faith based, student, and environemntal organizations working on sustainable solutions for public resources.
- * Link environmental concerns to race, class, democracy, risk management, and public planning.
- * Pressure government representatives to support legislation demanding national investment in public water systems.
- * Utilize innovative open source technology to strengthen coalitions
