The Strong Buzz is my weekly newsletter/blog that offers readers a rare, personal, insider-style view of what’s happening in the New York City restaurant world—everything from news, to restaurant openings (and closings), chefs on the move, events, frank (and funny) weekly restaurant reviews, and all sorts of drama in the business.
The Strong Buzz got started in November 2003, when, as a freelance writer, I wanted to post my articles on a website in hopes of offering editors a place to learn more about my work. About the time I was thinking about building a simple website, I met a guy named Harvey Kreiswirth (BigCityPartners.com). He had worked in consulting and marketing for tons of web-based businesses, and when I mentioned needing to build a site he offered to help. And then he actually followed up. He gave me a ton of his time and helped me figure out what I had to offer other than my articles (apparently reviews, news, and a bird’s eye view of the business). And while he helped shape the site with his insight, he also stayed true my vision, and together we created www.andreastrong.com which recently renamed www.thestrongbuzz.com.
