Part of fairy magic is that it is a secret. So, I'm not going to tell all my secrets. You may like to know that my name, besides The Book Fairy, is Jillian. Just Jillian. I have a wonderful friend, Laurie Brown, who helps me with my website and all my appointments. Below is some information about her if you are interested.
A storyteller.
My name is Laurie Brown and I am a storyteller, mom, writer, plus a lot more. For the past 6 years I have volunteered to read every week in my children's classrooms at school. That is how I met the Book Fairy. I wanted to do something to get the kids excited about reading. What could be more exciting than having THE Book Fairy come visit, sprinkle her fairy dust, and tell you all about her job? So, I convinced Jillian to make herself big, so everyone could find out about her special magic.
Book Fairs and Grade Levels
What began as fun for my kids one year, expanded to the whole grade level the next year, and eventually the whole school. I really love to coordinate with our Book Fair and tell the kids the Book Fairy has been working to make sure they have lots of great books at their Book Fair. The Book Fairy has been in every grade level from pre-scool to 5th grade. (Yes, 5th graders love to see the Book Fairy, even if they are too cool to admit it.)
