The Cheers was first launched February 17, 2004. Without any monetary backing for our publication, we have come a long way since that first issue was launched seven months ago. We're very proud of the changes in design that have taken place; it's taken lots of work for everyone involved in the new graphic design, but its finally arrived in its final format for the readers to enjoy.
When we first started, we had a staff of about 50 writers and editors, and today through the combined effort of both the Editor-in-Chief and one of the Assistant Editors-in-Chief, we have more than doubled that amount with new requests coming in several times weekly.
Fourthly, our team consists of writers who have the talent but have not had the opportunity to become published. We open the door of opportunity for them to see their name in print and to allow them to build their portfolio while improving their writing at the same time.
