The B word.com, founded 2005, was created and is maintained by Dee and Bealsfan, with site design by Who, Me?. Each of us originate from Showtime’s official “The L Word” message board “Bette” forum. This site was inspired by that forum, and a common interest in and love of the one and only Jennifer Beals, “Bette Porter” (the character that she portrays on Showtime’s critically acclaimed drama series, “The L Word”), and the show itself. The “B” in “the B word” can obviously stand for “Beals” and “Bette”; but just like “the L word”, that letter can also stand for the not-so-obvious...whatever it means to you. This fansite is intended to be a place where fans of Jennifer Beals, Bette Porter, and “the L word” alike can interact and show their adoration, appreciation, and support for JB and TLW. It is also a place where new friends will be made, and members will feel at home. With everything from links to all kinds of information and media, to chats and message boards, our goal is for the-B-word.com to be the ultimate fansite and interactive experience.
