Title
Rocky Horror in the Puget Sound - Terrible Thrills
Description
Originally a stage musical entirely written by Richard O'Brien (Riff Raff), it was seen by producer Lou Adler in Los Angeles. He was so impressed that he pushed to bring the show to film.
While the campy, risque themes and music worked amazingly well on stage, upon its theatrical release in 1975, the film was a resounding flop. But a few devoted fans persuaded a New York theater to show it at midnight, and thus was born one of the ultimate cult films of all time.
With addictive songs (try getting "Time Warp" or "Hot Patootie" out of your head), amusing raunchiness, and an utterly ridiculous plotline, you've got a movie that is certainly no critical threat... but throw in audience participation, props, and a live cast -- Terrible Thrills -- performing along with the movie at the midnight showing, and you've got a great show!
